The children from the Killester Club have been featured on RTE's children's program called Kazoo. The program was filmed last year in the INTA's HQ in Exchequer St to promote INTA Taekwon-do. Some of the kids from the club spent the afternoon in front of the camera with their instructor Mr. Niall Jones and senior INTA instructors Master Brendan O' Toole and Master Gerry Martin. It is with great pleasure to announce that Antoinette Fanning has been promoted to 1st degree black belt by the senior examining panel which consisted of Master Brendan O' Toole VIII dgree, Master Val Douglas VII degree and Master Gerry Martin VII degree. Antoinette has been training with Mr. Jones since he began teaching in Westwood TKD Club in Clontarf and has since, diligently being training to date in Killester. Antoinette has demonstrated great perseverance during her training and is a wonderful example to other students in how to follow the Tenets of Taekwon-do. Mr. Jones and all the members of the Killester TKD Club would like to congatulate Antoinette in acheiving this huge milestone in her training.
Congratulations to Alex Shelley, Adam Shelley, Ryan Shelley and Alex Swan who passed their black belt grading on Sunday. The grading took place in the INTA Headquarters - Taekwon-do Centre under the INTA senior grading panel Master Brendan O' Toole, Master Val Douglas and Mister Gerry Martin. The four Killester students were presented with their belts in front of their proud parents and family.

The Killester junior team were invited to a friendly sparring competition on Friday evening the 11th of July to the Rush Taekwon-do club. The Killester team comprised of 11 competitors all of which were excited to take part in this friendly match. The competition started at 7.30pm and the Killester team started strongly but soon the Rush competitors started to gain until both teams were equal with one more bout to go. The final bout was an exciting finish with the victory going to Killester. The Killester Taekwon-do club would like to thank the Rush Instructors, their students and the Umpires for making this a very enjoyable event. Click here for photos.
Killester Taekwon-do Club members acquitted themselves admirably at this year's INTA Open by bringing home seven 1st place, two 2nd place and three 3rd place trophies. The event took place in Cork City and altogether the Killester Taekwon-do Club had 17 members attending the two day event. Mr. Jones would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the competition especially to those that competed for the first time.
